The Vauvert Story

This is the story of Rebecca and Michel, the founders of les Collections Vauvert, based at Villa Vauvert in Saignon. Together, we have made Villa vauvert much more than a place to stay: it is a home where people come together, let go, and fully embrace the gentle rhythm of life in Provence

With Les Collections Vauvert, we seek to extend the adventure — creating a collection of experiences centred around gastronomy, wine, and culture, designed to reveal Provence in a different way: intimate and authentic, based on profound connections.

This is an invitation to slow down and experience Provence differently. Let yourself be guided, enjoy the beauty of simple pleasures, and discover the provençal way of life.

This is our story...

Rebecca

I left Australia, aged 21, with big dreams and a one year contract to teach English in a high school in Nantes. After one year of teaching English, then several years of guiding educational tours through Paris and Provence, and cheffing for families in London and the South of France, I eventually found myself in Montegenèvre, in the French Alps for “just one ski season.” That’s where I met Michel. Love at first sight — and the beginning of a new adventure.

Michel

Michel was born in Paris, into a family of wood workers. He began his career in interior decoration — making curtains, blinds, and reupholstering antique furniture. Life then took him far from home: first to California, then to England, before he finally settled in the French Alps. In Montgenèvre, he spent more than 30 years as a ski instructor, forging friendships and bringing a little spark of fun and joy to village life.

Together

Together we built a chalet, raised two children, and ran a B&B for 15 years, creating friendships that still last today. So many meals cooked, stories shared, and late nights around the table.

When our children left home, it seemed like the right time to move on, so we followed the sun, seduced by the relaxed rhythm of Provence. We found Villa Vauvert — or perhaps it found us — and decided to move, almost on the spot!. Two years of renovations (and more stories than fit on one web page…) later, we opened our doors in 2022 and began this new chapter.

We have been welcoming guests to our little corner of Provence for several years now.

Whether you choose an independent stay, personalised concierge services, or one of our curated retreats, our goal is simple:

To share the Provence we fell in love with.
To remove the stress and overwhelm from travel.
To create a place where people can connect, rest deeply, and savour the art de vivre provençal.

We are delighted to welcome our guests into our world, and hope to see you soon- under the Luberon sun.

A simple philosophy: live, taste, share

Through our experiences, we aim to share a vision of Provence that is authentic and joyful: early-morning markets, tables set in the shade of the trees, laughter over a glass of rosé, and conversations that linger long after dessert.
